Unfortunately, BaS has elected to take an indefinite hiatus from the show. He left some hope for his return or periodic appearance, but for now, I don’t think he’ll be on.
I hope to have him on occasionally going forward, but I think in the meantime we’ll be a BaS-less show. You could always try to persuade him over at his blog http://bornagainskeptic.net

I was the listener that listened to the entire show #53, and I enjoyed it all of the way through.
First I would like to tell you guys what I think of the show in general, and then I will explain a few facts about anarchism.
I have only listened to the past few episodes, but so far I really like the show. Although I think the duck timer is often too short and doesn’t allow the show to get as in-depth on certain topics as I would potentially enjoy, I like the fact that the show keeps moving and covers multiple different topics. On certain occasions I think it would be great if you added a second duck timer to a topic after the first time is up, so you can finish the topic off properly. Other than that minor gripe, I think the show is extremely interesting, and I find that my personal viewpoint is often echoed in this show a lot more often than other shows that I listen to. Keep up the good work and good luck with the show!
Now, part two: I am a voluntarist (anarchist), and although you guys had a generally more positive view on anarchism than most people who aren’t anarchists, I thought I would chime in and set you straight on a couple of key ideas. First of all, as far as money is concerned, a voluntarist would be perfectly willing to use real money (as opposed to federally mandated reserve notes). There are already plans in place to create a form of voluntary currency, but the federal government usually steals their precious metals and makes up bogus charges against them and shuts down the business (check out the Liberty Dollar or Lakota Bank). The main point of anarchism is not to destroy all government institutions and leave the space vacant; the main idea is to replace government institutions with voluntary alternatives. Thus, if there is a governmental service that people feel compelled to have, they can create a business that caters to those peoples’ needs (i.e. arbitration and protection services). If anyone is interested in learning more about these ideas, I would recommend the libertyconspiracy podcast, the Free Talk Live podcast, and to investigate the Free State Project (freestateproject.org)
Sincerely,
Tim

Voluntaryism is not classical anarchism (ie anarcho-syndicalism). I only speak for myself, and I do not ascribe to either the voluntaryist / market anarchist OR the anarcho-syndicalist viewpoint necessarily.

Tim,
Thanks for the feedback. We will discuss this before our next show.
I used to Listen to Free Talk live but stopped. I will put them back in the mix for a few weeks and see if it means more to me now than before. I also added Liberty Conspiracy to my pod catcher.
Tim, you may want to consider coming on the show. You can find a link in the forums on what to do (all you need is a Skype account). I think it would be an interesting conversation.

@tim, thanks very much for listening and taking time to give us feedback
@aaron, can you call in from the road? that would be very cool.
I also listened to the entire show, am glad I sat this one out. Seems we are all kind of beat down from this general feeling of helplessness, or perhaps I’m projecting…
…anyhow I forgot to wish GNR a belated Happy Birthday. Hope to get back up to speed for next week.

I really hope you guys get into Kosovo next episode and have less discussion about anarchism as with recent episodes the show seems to always degrade into a discussion about it.
